GOD for Morality?

Religious scholars say that god provides a basis for morality-- without god there would be none. They say god creating the universe makes sense and that without god, the universe might have never come into being.

My question is… which GOD they are talking about? Do they mean
Lord Vishnu, or
Lord Yahweh, or
Lord Jesus, or
Lord Huitzilopochtli, or
Lord Osiris, or
Lord Amun or
Lord Allah, or any of the thousands of current and past deities?

WHICH god created the universe? And which god's morality will the human species choose to live under? and WHEN?

In the animal kingdom, one species kills another species primarily to satisfy their hunger and to protect themselves and their young. When we see lions killing deer we may think it isn't moral… but how can you teach animals morality if they can't conceptualize god?

So the animal kingdom kills other species for hunger. What about humans? Humans are the only species which kills huge numbers of its own species, and for nothing more grievous than ideological differences. Is this the morality we've been taught from religion and god?

Morality Question:

Why were innocent children killed in the Tsunamis and other natural disasters ?

Moral, religious people will argue that the natural disasters killing of children is good because they were snatched from this world of suffering to live eternally in a better world.

What type of morality is this?

But then why have so many religious people rushed to help the Japanese, when they supposedly believe that the dead have actually moved into a better world… the eternal one?

I wonder… if moral, religious people took over the world, would all life-saving activities be strictly prohibited, on the reasoning that a person dying is actually moving to a better world? Would saving a life, which might be called 'preventing them from moving to a better world', be a crime under theistic rule? Would hospitals close down? Would ambulances stop running? Would we let house fires go unfought?

Just imagine. :O

  1. I think you are confused with real religious principles and teachings from today's so called religious teachers. In essence all religions teach you guidelines to live a healthy social life. It is human beings that then interpret different meanings off of the guidelines and twist it for their benefit and to justify the wrong things they do. Can you tell me one religious principle that is not correct? (Apart from your argument for God, coz God in core religion is nothing but forces of nature)

You cannot compare animals to human beings, animals dont do many things human beings do. And science is in such a premature state even today that it cannot even explain certain basics like emotions and our existence.
So, I think science and religion is basically the quest towards the same goal in different direction.

My friend what is the use of religion when there is no authority to interpret it rightly?

"Can you tell me one religious principle that is not correct? "

No religion opposed "Slavery" Rather provided legitimacy by mentioning rules and regulations about male and female slaves. Killing Slaves and having sex with them is also authorized by religion.

Well my friend ! Science provided you Electricity, Automobiles, trains, airplanes, Computers, Internet, Robots, Space stations, Treatments of many viral infections, Body parts Transplants, Artificial Intelligence..... this is huge list my friend... and still you think science is in premature state :)
