Eid-ul-Azha - Qurbani a big shame

Every muslim is preparing for Eid-ul-Azha these days. "Hajjis" are traveling towards Makka to perform haj while other muslims who are not able to go to makka are looking for animals to slaughter on the Eid.

Visiting to Makkah and performing Hajj ceremony cost more than 3000 dollars. We can well imaging how much money is going to be spend on this eve by this poor nation of the world. Millions of muslims are living below poverty line. But rich muslim should go to perfom hajj as it is one of the pillars of Islam.

Killing millions of animals world wide on this occasion doesn't make any sense. Millions of people in Pakistan are ready to buy animal for Eid-ul-Azha. Minimum cost of an animal is about $80. 80 x millions is a huge amount of money. After spending this big amount on this ceremonial activity there will be not change in the lives of people. 40 million people will still live under the line of poverty. Shameful on all muslims....  Muslim brothers and sisters are dieing of clean water and food. But true blievers of Islam will spend billions of dollars in just one stupid religious ritual with no outcome of any kind. If we could manage to spend this money on development, we might have been in one of the supreme nations of the world.

It is only mandatory for Haji to perform "Qurbani" to remember Ibrahim's scrifice event near the Arafat mount. It is not mendatory for remaining muslims all over the world.
I have a question for you:
why do we slaughter millions of animals on every Eid? Why we presume or have feeling like Qurbani is Farz on every well to do muslim?

  2. OK... doesn't matter. but I said what I felt. Millions of people died of unger this year as well. As I am writing to you more than 23,000 people have already died of hunger.(http://www.worldometers.info/) Why our God or his system or his followers never work for them?
